An user on the GTA Forums has leaked a 3GB file full of 90 videos of GTA 6 footage. The hacker “teapotuberhacker” claims they may leak more data soon which includes GTA V and GTA VI source code, assets, and testing builds.
Earlier this year, It was confirmed that “For the first time ever in a Grand Theft Auto game, GTA 6 will have both a playable male and female protagonist.” The leak contains gameplay footage of the same Female Protagonist named Lucia and she is seen robbing a restaurant and taking hostages. There is plenty of placeholder text showing this is clearly unfinished gameplay.
Another Footage shows a playable Male character on the “Vice City Metro” train, which confirms the rumors that the game is set in a fictionalized version of Miami much like 2002 GTA: Vice City.
The leaked gameplay footage appears to be in a very early stage of development, It’s not clear how old the footage actually is, But it is said that the leaked clips can be as old as 2 years.
The GTA 6 leaks might not do much damage, as the finished product is likely to be much more better and polished. However, there is a concern that any code for GTA Online could make it easier for hackers to exploit vulnerabilities and otherwise spoil the game for other players.
Rockstar Games has confirmed the authenticity of the leak in a tweet, They expressed being “extremely disappointed” that details of the future game were shared in this manner, and promised another update “soon,” and that creation of GTA VI would continue “as planned.”
