Minecraft is not just a game, it has become a cultural phenomenon because of its creative and collaborative community. Most of us who live in developed countries where freedom of speech is a fundamental human right. But not everyone is lucky enough to live in such countries, there are many people who live in countries where people’s opinion and information is heavily censored by the government. Especially people who report facts for a living, Journalists.
The Uncensored Library in Minecraft was built by 24 People to provide free access to information in areas where censorship exists.
The virtual library was opened on 12th of March to mark the World Day Against Cyber Censorship. With the use of the hashtag #TruthFindsAWay this project quickly gained the attention of Gamers, Journalists, Writers and Authors all over the world, specially from countries like Egypt, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam where their words are often censored.
